Prophetic Wisdom - 29th October, 2025

As the dust began to clear yesterday, and I was able to sit down and focus again, slowly, methodically, one task at a time, another storm swept through our camp.

This is what happens when you are doing God's work, the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy (John 10:10) and he exploits every weakness.

As the storm raged, I stood firm wearing the full armour of God - truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, the sword of the Spirit and prayer (Ephesians 6:10-18), did not give the devil a foothold (Ephesians 4:27) and waited for the storm to pass.

There can be no compromise when it comes to the enemy, we are either in or out, hot or cold, all or nothing, and if we are lukewarm God will spit us out of His mouth. (Revelation 3:16)

The problem with the devil is that you give him an inch, he takes a mile, if you give him a little bit of rope, he hangs you with it, his sole purpose is to devour everything in his sight, he is not your friend, even though he tries to convince you that his way is best.

The Devil Is A Liar

The devil is a liar, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him.

When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44)

The devil comes with temptation, to draw you away from everything that is good and true and right, luring you to stumble and fall into the watery depths, only to drown you.

He lies about your worth, puffing you up or tearing you down, he lies about your ability, telling you that you can't when you can and that you can when you can't, and he lies about God's plan for you, promising you riches that he doesn't own and can't deliver.

You know it's the devil speaking because he is arrogant, prideful and deceptive, he doesn't care for others and he doesn't care for us, he hates everything that is good.

Temptation Deceives

When Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil, after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.

The tempter came to him and told him that if he was the Son of God, to tell the stones to become bread, but Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple, telling him that if he was the Son of God, to throw himself down, for it is written that God will command his angels concerning him, and they will lift him up in their hands, so that he would not strike his foot against a stone, and Jesus answered, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"

Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendour, telling him that he would give it all to him, if he would bow down and worship him, to which Jesus replied, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.'" Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

Satan challenged Jesus' authority, ability and position, offered to give him things which weren't his to offer, all of which belonged to Jesus anyway in accordance with his birthright and then had the audacity to quote scripture to him, such are the wiles of the devil...

God Nourishes

In animal rescue, we are often pushed to the brink and have to have nerves of steel to withstand the pressure.

People don't understand the need, the urgency or the sacrifice that those who stand for life have to make.

We have to find massive amounts of money quickly and when we don't have it, we have to put everything on the line.

Many of us don't choose who lives or who dies, we ensure that everyone is provided for by asking for miracles that we have no idea if, when or how will come.

And those who are able to do this, despite the overwhelming odds that are stacked against us, do this by moving in faith, which is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1)

The Way of Wisdom

The Father instructs us in the way of wisdom and leads us along straight paths. When we walk, our steps will not be hampered; when we run, we will not stumble. (Proverbs 4:11-12)

We must enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7:13-14)

Those who are wise know that in and of themselves, they are nothing, but with Jesus by our side, having been made from him and through him and for him (Romans 11:36), we are the fullness of everything that he is.

And it is in his mighty name, not ours, that we rule and reign, as all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to him and he is with us always, to the very end of the age. (Matthew 28:18-20)

And this is how the impossible becomes possible, we stand on God's promise of making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. (Isaiah 43:19)

The Power of God

God's great power is incomparable.

That power is the same as the mighty strength He exerted when He raised Christ from the dead and seated him at His right hand in the heavenly realms.

And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way. (Ephesians 1:18-23)

God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 2:4-6)

Jesus has authority over everything and his fullness moves through us, for we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10)

The Miry Depths

There is no foothold in the miry depths in which we sink, for the waters come up to our neck.

The water is deep, the floods engulf us and we will be worn out calling for help; our throat will be parched. (Psalm 69:1-3)

It is easy for our feet to slip and for us to lose our foothold when we fall into envy and desire. (Psalm 73:2-3)

When our heart is grieved and our spirit embittered, we are senseless and ignorant; a brute beast before God. (Psalm 73:21-22)

But those who are far from God will perish; He destroys all who are unfaithful to Him. (Psalm 73:27)

Submit To God

In order to not give the devil a foothold, we must submit ourselves to God. We must resist the devil, and he will flee from us. (James 4:7)

This is a posture of total surrender, of humility and of subjugating our will to God's, even if this means delayed gratification, for what is truly yours will not pass you by.

There is no easy way, no way to get rich quickly, the road is long and arduous, full of perils and challenges that must be overcome and we must do things in the right way, at the right time.

If serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.

But as as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD. (Joshua 24:15)

Building on Rock

Therefore, everyone who hears these words and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

But everyone who hears these words and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.

The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash. (Matthew 7:24-27)

Building on rock is the first step to not giving the devil a foothold and and faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1)

God Is The Rock

God is the Rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just.

He is a faithful God who does no wrong, He is upright and just. (Deuteronomy 32:4)

God is our rock, in whom we take refuge, our shield and the horn of our salvation. He is our stronghold, our refuge and our Saviour - from violent people He saves us. (2 Samuel 22:3)

God is our fortress and our deliverer. (Psalm 18:2)

God is the Rock we have built our house on.

The Head Not The Tail

We are God's children and have overcome all spirits that are not from God, because the One who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)

The LORD will make us the head, not the tail.

If we pay attention to the commands of the LORD our God, that He gave to us by Moses, and carefully follow them, we will always be at the top, never at the bottom. (Deuteronomy 28:13)

We must therefore guard our steps (Ecclesiastes 5:1), guard our hearts, for everything we do flows from it. (Proverbs 4:23)

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard our hearts and our minds. (Philippians 4:7)

Taking Authority

Jesus said that if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. (Mark 11:23)

The mountains are the problems, obstacles and challenges in our lives, and whatever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever we loose on earth, will be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 18:18)

Jesus also gave us authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm us. (Luke 10:19)

The signs that will accompany those who believe are: In his name we will drive out demons, we will speak in new tongues, we will pick up snakes with our hands, when we drink deadly poison, it will not hurt us at all and we will place our hands on sick people and they will get well. (Mark 16:15-18)

Jesus is the head and we are his body (Colossians 1:18), and he will do whatever we ask in his name. (John 14:13-14)

No Weapon Forged Against Us Will Prosper

It was God who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work.

And it is God who created the destroyer to wreak havoc; no weapon forged against us will prevail, and we will refute every tongue that accuses us.

This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from Him, declares the LORD. (Isaiah 54:16-17)

Yes, Satan is the god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4) but we are victors not victims, we have authority over him, and we must take it.

Before God every knee will bow; by Him every tongue will swear and all who have raged against Him will come to Him and be put to shame. (Isaiah 45:23-24)
